When I first heard about Pucón, I was intrigued. A place with volcanoes, lakes and nature adventures in the heart of Chile? I had to know more. Since then, I have fallen in love with this natural paradise, and I am excited to share my experience with you.

So where exactly is Pucón? Located in the Araucanía Region in southern Chile, Pucón is a tourist destination that will take your breath away. Enveloped by the natural beauty of Lake Villarrica and the majesty of the Villarrica Volcano, it is truly a hidden gem in southern Chile.

How to get to Pucón

If you are in Santiago de Chile, the fastest way to get there is to take a flight to La Araucanía Airport, located in Temuco, the capital of the region. Flights take about an hour and a half. And then? Well, from the airport, you can take a bus or rent a car for the final drive to Pucón, which takes about 90 minutes.

By Bus

The second option is the bus. From Santiago, the trip can take between 8 and 10 hours, but the views along the way will reward you. Be sure to book your ticket in advance, especially during high season.

By Car

And finally, you can arrive by car. The drive to Pucón from Santiago is approximately 780 kilometers along Route 5 South. The route will take you through breathtaking landscapes and you can make stops in cities such as Chillán and Los Angeles. The perfect trip for a road lover!

Once in Pucón
